Could go as high as 3rd or as low as 12th depending on how this one pans out.
How do these things usually work out for West Ham?

Just remember this is West Ham, so whenever something remotely looks good we fuck it up COYI!

The last time we played Villa on a Monday night (that I remember) was almost 14 years ago to the day, and Marlon HAREWOOD scored a hat trick in a 4-0 win.

I've been impressed with what I've seen of Villa so far this season and tonight will be a tough game. Hoping for a win but a draw would also be a decent result.

Too early to be confident of getting results away even at a promoted team. I thought we were lucky to get a draw at Brighton and even against Watford we got a few breaks. I suppose people look at the table and see at this very early stage you can make a big jump up or down based on a win etc but it could go either way tonight. I mentioned in another thread that many could all be calling for Pellegrini and the owners heads again if we lose tonight and then slip up against an unpredictable United on Sunday. These next 2 games will tell us if the optimism after the Norwich game is founded on more than wishful thinking :-)
I have seen us sh*t and fall backwards far more times than meeting expectations so always hope for the best but am prepared for the worse.
Id be happy with a point tbh.

If we play even close to our level we should have too much for them but i always have my doubts when we're away from home ( even though we've done well so far this season) will be a very hostile atmosphere there tonight need to take the crowd out of the game ASAP.
Haller vs Mings should be a good contest

The more folk that predict an Irons win the more likely we are to fail. I hate predicting an Irons win as it always goes belly up!!!

In the past this would be classic West Ham and we would be on the end of a thumping. But with Pellegrini at the helm. And this squad of players we look like we can give anyone a game.(Apart from the top two) A sneaky 2-1 away win for us.

The last time I was surprised to find us taking chances and winning away was when Dean Ashton played for us. He really made that much of a difference.
Can Seb take up the mantle?
